We collect the following information when you use Staked:
- Email address: Provided when you sign in via magic link. Used for authentication, transactional emails, and account identification.
- Stake data: Your goal, deadline, stake amount, resolution type, and any proof or closure text you submit.
- Payment information: Processed entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, bank details, or other financial information on our servers. We store only the Stripe payment intent ID for reference.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Authenticate your account
- Process your stakes and payouts
- Send transactional emails (confirmations, reminders, resolution notifications)
- Display cohort statistics (aggregated, not individual)
- Prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service
We do not sell your personal information. We do not send marketing emails.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase: Authentication and database hosting. Privacy Policy

- Vercel: Hosting and deployment. Privacy Policy
4. Data Visibility
If you set your stake visibility to "public," your goal and deadline may be visible to other users. Your email, stake amount, and resolution details are never publicly displayed.
Closure ritual text is stored privately and is only visible to you and platform administrators for review purposes.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data and stake history for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or financial compliance (e.g., payment records).
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies only for authentication session management (Supabase auth tokens). We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Export your data in a portable format

8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), Row Level Security on our database, and secure authentication via magic links (no passwords stored). Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
